Is anyone on MAC able to install the DLC? The map is not downloading on MAC. ARK: Survival Evolved. Its good to see (and sad) that i am not the only one with the issue. The map has been out for hours now and still no fix or statement on MAC players with the map download issue.

I have a 2012 MacBook Pro 13 inch which is very fast and never lags. Until I tried to play ARK.I was very exited for it to come out yesterday but they Steam Administrators delayed it and booted it up for Mac and Linex users today.

Around 4 pm opened steam and clicked play for ARK. ARK had an update and I waited for an hour till that was over. Then I clicked on 'Join ARK' and that was when the lagging started. I knew there was a lot of people playing the game, but I didn't realize how much. Now my Mac shows me the avatar customization screen and I couldn't see my avatar. All I hear through my headphones is rain. I still had my hopes up for the game so I continued and clicked 'CREATE NEW SURVIVOR'. Loading, loading, and loading.
I was still very excited and then finally I see the starting animation for ARK and it was freezing NOT lagging. It was not slow, IT WAS FRAME THEN SKIP THEN FRAME. Once I got out of the starting place I tried to walk around. My Mac was freezing I was literally unable to play the game.I quit.
I couldn't do it, I tried for so long and nothing changed. Then I went to our Mac PC and the same thing happened, but it was way worse.
I wasted my money and I really was excited for this game because I saw how popular it was on Youtube and Steam. Now I am sobbing. Please comment down below your experience or a way to fix this issue.Thank You,Mindy May. Originally posted by:What graphics card do you have in your system? I did a quick check of the 2015 13-inch and it was this card.with that kind of performance on a computer 3 years newer than yours, I'm not surprised you can't run this game.My graphics card is - Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB on my non mac laptop i have an Intel HD Graphics 4400, which is not my main graphics card, on that one i could not even load ark. I also have an AMD Radeon Hd 8750M and on that one i can play ark on low-medium settings with 20 fps. Retail stores really need to put 'NO THIS IS NOT USED FOR REAL GAMING' in bold glowing flashing letters that screamed at the customer whenever it hears 'I want to game' as that would save the even semi competent people so much time.
No more explaining that their laptop isn't good for gaming. You'd think the fact that there are laptops that say 'gaming laptop' of 'gaming series' on them would help people figure out that they're good for gaming.Mac users should just buy alienware. They're overpriced like macs, but they can actually run games.

Damn, i feel sorry for you; as stated above, your graph card won't cut itAnd from what i hear, you can't really upgrade parts in your mac because.its a mac. I don't want to start the whole mac vs pc thing but when it comes to video games on a computer, pc wins almost all the time; I saw that a mac book pro went for about 1300$ and for that price it is highly under powered. I bought and build my pc from scratch and it cost me 1500 $ and with that, i'm set for at least 2 to 3 yrs of gaming the latest gamesIf you want a real nice experience in pc gaming, then might I suggest you build yourself your own custom pc ( i know it sounds horribly complexe ) but its not! I was once scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about building my own pc because i thought it too complicated but really, it turned out to be mega fun! I would suggest you check out 'how to build a PC' on the Newegg channel.
They are the best and explain thoroughly everything about building a pc; after seeing their vids, i was ready to build mine.and eventually did No more pre build, mass produced, under powered, highly expensive pcs for me! Side note: If you build your own PC, whenever you need to upgrade it, its so easy, you just swap the part you need; You no longer have to buy a whole new pc!So good luck and hang in there.
